September 27, 2007 10:34 PMsomething elseyeah, that September 27, 2007 09:10 AMLet's SummarizeBullet lists as always. Here's the main elements of my life right now, emo-style. Mom has cancer So, what best to make that all come together? Well, of course, yesterday, hearing about a hippie wedding under a tree that I blew off because of above items (stupid idea, it would have been nice), births in bathtubs, and the real topper was having not one but (you've got to be fucking kidding me) TWO guys tell me about the RING that they're buying. So yeah, I guess I'm go to fucking work now and make some money, because, you know, that's satisfying? except that its not. September 26, 2007 04:20 PMWes AndersonI stood in line for an hour last night to see the premiere of a 12 minute movie. It was very surreal, and only after the movie ended, did I look around and realize that the film was just and excuse for fanboys to see Natalie Portman naked. *shrug* September 13, 2007 10:19 AMNote To SelfDear Oliver. You really like riding your bike to work. You should do it more! It is good for the head and feels good! The sweatiness thing is a bit of a problem though. September 10, 2007 12:39 AMBobbySometimes movies really do it for me. They are cinematic. They do what they're supposed to do. They evoke time and place; mood and emotion. Good job, Emilio.
September 04, 2007 07:42 PMSensory ExperiencesToday in the midst of processing and mourning and all of those things, my senses were lit up. Whilst shopping for new jeans, the salesman prodded me to take off my shirt and stand bare chested in the middle of the store in the middle of the afternoon. It was such a weird feeling, but then the touch of cashmere was so incredibly soft and nice that I could literally not resist. mmmm Then, at Rainbow I discovered a brand new cheese. It is the definition of excessive. In every possible way. Take everything you can imagine about the best goat cheese you've ever had, and just add truffles. You know, the best taste in the whole wide world? And finally, walking home from my 87th errand of the day, I passed yet another playa coated car. They all make me so happy. All the knowing, tired nods, the glances, the real truth of the shared experience. There's a bunch of things that kind of suck about BM these days, but there's still such a bond shared by those that Get It; words can't express. I could not resist. I took my whole palm and rubbed it in the filth of the car and the grime of the desert. I breathed it in deeply, wanting to know the smell, the taste of it all. i rubbed it around, feeling the sensation of the silky slickness of the fine grains. |
