May 27, 2007 07:24 PMMore Periodic UpdatesHi. Whats happening? Hmm. I've been partying hard, trying to avoid thinking about some stuff. Let's just be honest and say I'm being escapist, no reason to beat around the bush. Besides some serious hangovers, there's no real repercussions at this point. That said, I'm kind of bored with drinking and thinking that a bit of a healthier lifestyle will make me happier overall. We'll see how that goes. Many broad generalizations fall by the wayside after being exclaimed on teh interwebs, so keep your finger crossed for me. I've made pals with a coworker or two, which is very satisfying, been working a lot towards a deadline (but not enough this weekend), and puttering about with elly. Today we had a sublime brunch at Foreign Cinema, which also filled our hearts with warehouse longings and lust. Exposed brick, lots of light, bamboo. It's cliched in my mind, but I don't care. I don't want the cookie cutter perfect Victorian on the hill. violent shifts in perspective. Its all happening. Then there was Opera in the Park, which was nice, though we arrived for the final note of the final aria. D'oh!! haha. nice pals tho. I've been reading about food geeks, something that I'm not super familiar with, but that intrigues me nonetheless. Here's two links that kept me entertained for a Sunday afternoon. 1) 26 course meal at L'Enclume looks amazing, and tempts me with meat. What else? I want to buy a new front projector (looking at the Optoma HD70. 720p for less than most anyone else. Seems right, but not sure yet), and want to buy a burr coffee grinder for making my single cups of drip coffee at my desk at work. Must go buy new issue of Imbibe to see what Tony tells me to buy, and then to go do it. :) Hmm. lots of distractions. Trying hard to find a way to process my parents' current health problems in a way that I can support them without freaking out on my own. I'll be in Chicago next week. No New York for me this time. May 02, 2007 09:57 AMA Brief UpdateHi- I'm working lots, back at old job in new position that I'm happy with. I'm spending lots of time with those close to me, and worrying about some family health woes. I went to a fun concert the other night: LCD Soundsystem with Yacht. LCD was, unsurprisingly, amazing, and totes awesome. Surprisingly (he entered with a standard rock anthem), the Yacht guy was endearing and fun and awesome. I thought of Liam, on meth. :) This morning I went to the gym to swim at my outdoor pool, but it is closed for a week, so I swam inside, which was better than a sharp stick in the eye, but kind of sucked. Now I'm at work, having just made some blue bottle at my desk, so we'll see how that goes. One month from today I'll be in New York. I'm sure I'll regret that, not to be negative or anything. business is booming tho. |
