Hell Yeah

Some days? They're just better than others.

I've had a rough week, and have been up in my head, and working a bit too much into the nights. Friday was different! I slept in reasonably, and then got up to go play golf with Herf! He drove us out to Alameda, where we hit a bicket of balls, and then played the shortest par three that I've ever seen. It was a blast!

We were outside, in the beautiful October Bay Area weather, wandering about, chatting and getting to know each other. It was as much a surprise to me that I liked it as it was nice just to be outside. We had a beer in the clubhouse, and just happily chatted about life, the universe and everything :) Then, a nice drive back to SF and a late lunch at The Ramp, another outdoor adventure, but by the water this time.

Man, I think I like it outside, huh?

Then, off to a late night work day with Brian and other cow orkers. It ended up hilariously; we worked until 5am, but had a great time talking trash and working hard as it went. I was actually giddy and somewhat deliriously laughing many many times.

And no, I didn't drink any of the shitjuice :)

Business Cards

Hi.

Grover found an old business card of mine from college days, and was kind enough to take a photo of it. That inspired me to find a bunch of my old cards and put them up on flickr. I'm happy about them; each one tells such a story for me.

Go Look!

Updated! Liz found my Intel card!

Good Stuff

Hello World.

I had a great week, largely because of the Downlow party on Saturday night. (more on that in a second) Things have been puttering along pretty well these days. I'm working with an old pal again, which makes me happy, and makes it easier to get through the days. I'm spending too much time at work, but trying to do better at /not/ doing that. elly's nice. We've puttered and had over-planned weekends and many things, but she's endured. I had a nice visit from old friends and from family (same weekend!), which included lots of conversations about phones and too much heavy eating. doot dee doo.

let's see. I'm currently fantasizing about land in northern california. Ok, maybe too much land, but why dream small? It's one of the lessons my grandfather imparted upon me: they ain't making any more lake/ocean-front land anytime soon!

This past Thursday, I left work at a reasonable time (6pm), and couldn't decide about how to get to Hayes Valley, so instead of cab/bart/muni, I just walked! It was gorgeous, and I stuck my nose into stores, and saw the world, and listened to Mike Bee both from Future Breaks and from a Chillits set. damn good stuff to see the sun set by, while walking all the way down Mission Street. I finally made it home almost two hours later, but in time to take elly on a nice little date. I do so much better when I walk, but the laziness of driving is so tempting!

Friday was big & exciting at work, with some charity event thing, but ended up that I was able to leave at a decent hour, and putter around a little before going to the de Young's first anniversary party, and then to buy fancy champagne and catching a midnight movie with ms. elly!

Saturday was filled with caffeinated erranding after brunch, a nap and then a laaate night Downlow party in a beautiful outdoor space. Man, I love the Radiant Atmospheres crew. They put on such nice displays. I want to work with them!! Glitch Mob, good breaks, and at some point, some 150bpm+ insanity led to fun all night dancing. Ian was awesome enough to come along, brining a new haircut and all the best of enthusiasm! More brunch Sunday, and more puttering about.

not bad at all. This is why I work. Sometimes, I forget, in the darkness of the pressure, but the weekends at the Wynn, the nights on the bay, the brunches with friends. These are the things. yup.
