SF- Zeitgeist

Hello All-

I miss both you & San Francisco, so I am coming to town next week for a wedding up in Sonoma. I'm planning a drink or twelve @ Zeitgeist on Tuesday 07/01 from 6pm->10pm or so.

Won't you please come down and say hi? Bring many/any/all peoples that you like, 'cause I'm bound to like them too!

Ben Watt

I went to the Ben Watt (EBTG) show at 66 Water, in DUMBO last night. It was amazing. First of all, dumbo is the perfect nite-time vibe. There's brick streets, big dark buildings, black rain-slicken sidewalks, and very few people. To get there, I had an epic well-timed subway ride, and then walked through this sketchy alley directly underneath the Manhattan bridge. Totally cool.

Once I got there, it was a decent bar; nothing special. But then I walked downstairs. OMG. It was like being in a hundred year old wine cellar. An exposed brick, two (three?) story high room, *packed* with people. The beats were killer, and the crowd was mixed, as I like it. There were young people, 30-something people, gays, straights, blacks, whites. And everyone was just there to dance.

I met these two ladies. One "Starla" in from LA for the weekend, 5'2", Arian, cute glasses, very talkative. The other "Holly", 5'10" at least, white, black slinky dress, from Brooklyn, very nice. We danced, we talked, there was spark. I still had some skills. It was all good.

Then things went all wrong. Since I didn't get there until midnight (had dinner w/ Jimmy's girl and a chick he's trying to set me up with), I decided to save the sauce. Bad idea. First try was red bull & vodka. No red bull. Back to the standard Jack & Coke. That never ends well for me. So then, there was Thug Passion. It was sweet. It was cold (I was hot). They went down so so so easily. I don't know how many there were, but it appears there were many.

The next thing I know, the bouncer is walking me out (in a nice way, like "hey buddy, you're fucked up," not "get the fuck out of my bar, punk!"), and its raining. A lot. Anyways, one thing leads to another, I seem to have wandered all over dumbo (judging by the condition of my new coat & pants: soaked. shoes still wet, at 6pm next day), and somehow ended up in a cab with some guy who asked me for directions *TO* the bar I'd just come from!!!

It was daylight, and I went to bed.
