A lot has happened

Hello. I haven't written in a week where so incredibly much has happened. Highlights: Quit job. Nice people came to party with me. Home, decompressing. Cat life. Nice time with the ladies. Trying to figure out life.

Last Thursday, I got to go to one of the fanciest dinners I've ever had, at Lever House. It was tasty, though I suspect the meat dishes were more yummy for them than my fairly basic risotto. The waitress had glass conch piercings and fun short bleached blonde hair. The highlights of the meal were the three bottles of Stag's Leap, and the AMAZING Deborah Snyder deserts. I'm not much of a foodie, but damn it was good. I learned a few lessons about life over that meal: one lesson from each of the two women there.

Then, Friday was my last day at work. Crazy as it may seem, I had meetings all day! hahah. Not transition, you're leaving meetings, but normal business meetings! I had a 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm, 2:30pm! Hahaha. How absurd. The crazy thing is that I was intellectually present during that time! However, all that aside, the best part is how I went out in style. Forgive me for indulging myself, but what the hell! *grin*. I went to work in my brand new suit (I'm a fashion whore from Fred Segal!) and green trainers (Cholo gets props for those!). (I looked a lot like I did when we went to Harlene's Wedding), and managed to expense a few bottles of champagne for my morning meeting! heeehee. There's this meeting that I ran for about a year, where a whole bunch of developement managers all get together and discuss current projects, and I thought it would be appropriate to toast myself. Good fun had by all, and we even had flutes to drink from!

The day went quickly, but then as evening fell, and we meandered over to a Swanky rooftop bar, as graciously arranged in advance by a pal at work. I was hopeful that a handful of people would show up, but it ended up being a real party! I was so honored and surprised by the attendance. Maybe it was the bottle service, but I don't care. heh. Fancy people from work came, hungover pals from work, and there were even hangers-on! Most flatteringly were my pals from Brooklyn who made the big trek in to be with me as I said goodbye to the midtown, corporate world. I was on cloud 9. We drank fancy drinks, hung out and generally had a great time. There were other things happening there that I probably shouldn't talk about, but damn, I've never actually *seen* it happen before! There was lots of smoking, and chilling on the balcony:

Tamara and Nathan, both work pals that I miss terribly already.

Sunset over the Hudson

The weekend brought the new moon, the Siren Festival out at Coney Island, bad movies and lots of much needed downtime. Yesterday was a flury of activity with trips to the Post Office, Salvation Army, and the co-op. Today, I've written a review of a local independent coffee shop called Cafe Regular (located on 11th Street), ran minor errands, done sinks full of dishes, tended to the house, and just generally decompressed.

Also, elly bleached her hair pink and blonde, but I can't show you any of the pictures that I took :). Suffice to say I'm quite pleased.
