Goodbye 2003

Background Music: sounds of cricket chirping, horses neighing in the distance, and a new favorite song "Dance to the Music" by Soularis.

Weirdly enough, I woke up today to see the last sunrise of 2003. It was beautiful, and pictures can't capture it in any way, but here's a close approximation:

We had another day at blue beach, in a different hut, but still gorgeous ocean.

I swam a lot farther/more than yesterday. I finally started to really dig in, and feel the build of lactic acid. Longer, Harder, Faster. God, I miss the rush of speed. Upstream, open-water swimming in salt-water is so much fun. I understand currents, and waves, and sun, and salt, and water most of all. I feel so much more comfortable in water than anywhere else. I *really* should be swimming more.

On a similar note, there's a scale in my bohio, and I've been weighing myself every day. It's pretty freaky, because I weigh the EXACT same thing (down to the 10th of a pound) every day, regardless of eating, drinking, exercise, etc. Freaky. 148.2 pounds. I'm such a lightweight!

Then, the waking day ended with a final sunset of 2003

There was some computing, watching the vistas, and chatting with the lovely miss elly

All the while, the moon rose overhead for another year:

Resolutions are for another journal entirely :)
