More Midtown

Some other things for Midtown people:

1) Tower Records. Yes, they're a massive chain, but it's a CD store in Midtown. It's in the big, gold, ugly Trump Plaza building. It's kind of hidden, though. Enter on 5th Avenue, between 56th & 57th. Walk directly ahead, and down the escalator towards the food court. Note the nifty waterfall. Tower is downstairs. Essential Tuesday new-release visiting. (212) 838-8110

2) Big Installation Art. There's a tiny coffee stand/shop inside of a big open-air, 5-6 story tall glass ceilinged room in the IBM building at the corner of Madison & 56th. You'll note it because outside of the building is a sometimes-running stainless steel & granite fountain outside. That alone is neat, but the fun part is that there are revolving large-scale art projects that get installed inside. Plus, free.

3) Rooftop garden. Also in Trump Plaza. Follow same instructions, but take escalator up a few flights to a mezzanine/balcony-like level, and walk outside. It's sunny, and there are a few trees.

More later, I'm sure.
